What is Kubernetes?

Kubernetes, also referred to as K8s, is a way to orchestrate the automation of software deployment, scaling, and management by way of open-source container applications. Applications are grouped into containers based on content in order to streamline discovery and manageability. Kubernetes was created by Google in 2014 and after 15 years, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation took over and has since maintained the project.
