Responsible for coordination, configuration, installation, and management of all LANs/WANs and related client services within the enterprise to meet business requirements. . Has key responsibility for the identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems and malfunctions related to LANs/WANsand related equipment. Makes decisions that are critical in the areas of throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning, with the potential to affect the successful execution of business transactions. Proactively researches and locates necessary tools and processes to identify troublesome trends as they develop. Participates in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the telecommunications infrastructure.

STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Charlotte, LA, Atlanta, New York and more.


  • Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including, routers, switches, firewalls and other hardware.
  • Make technology recommendations that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
  • Monitor and identify capacity and performance issues for WAN/LAN traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of Enterprise systems.
  • Identify and communicate problems and opportunities for improvement in the infrastructure and technology at all times.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration and network mapping.
  • Assist with Network auditing and documentation of internal and external audits.
  • Create and provide on-going updates of IT operational procedure documentation.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Complete all Network related Trouble tickets as escalated by Help Desk.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions - including firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, SSL VPN, Web Proxy and other Security Appliances.
  • Set and adhere to project deadlines and proactively manage communications with peers and management.
  • Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery procedures for IT Infrastructure.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support (i.e. through monitoring and troubleshooting) to ensure availability, performance and recoverability of IT infrastructure.
  • Attend weekly production meetings while on-call and keep apprised of trouble tickets and change requests in preparation for the meeting.
  • Perform on-going technology assessment and vendor selection/management.
  • Assist with creation, on-going refinement and execution on IT infrastructure roadmap.


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree in MIS, technical degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with three (3) years of operational experience in applicable field, preferred


  • Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation
  • Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
  • Must possess strong problem solving skills
  • Experience in multi-site LAN/WAN design, administration and troubleshooting skills in a Cisco environment.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to mult-task, directly interface with end users at all levels and work well independently
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
